Getting Started with Armat

Welcome to Armat! We’re excited to see you taking the first steps to joining the Armenian community.

While we try to make our platform as simple and user-friendly as possible, it can still be a little intimidating at first. If you’re having trouble getting used to Armat, you’re in the right place! By the end of this article, you’ll understand all the features and content available on Armat, as well as how to use and contribute to the community.

Creating an account on Armat requires:

• Your Full Name
• Email Address or Phone Number
• Password*

There are three user levels on the platform—we’ll go into detail on what each user can do.

1. General Users (Default)
2. Verified Users
3. Organizers

Anyone that creates an account by default is a general user. General users can become verified members by reaching out to the Armat team and verifying their identity and Armenian heritage.

General users can do the following:

• View events on the event calendar
• Subscribe/Unsubscribe to event notifications
  
• Follow/Unfollow organizations to receive event notifications
  

Verified Users are individuals whose identities have been verified by the Armat team or they have been invited by other verified members.

Verified Users can do the following:

• View events on the event calendar
  
• Subscribe/Unsubscribe to event notifications
  
• Follow/Unfollow organizations to receive event notifications
• Recommend Armenian-owned businesses and organizations to be added to the platform
• Suggest edits to business listings and organization listings
  
• Invite others to the platform to become verified users as well
• Can claim and manage business/organization listings
• Submit events for approval and publishing
  

Organizers are individuals who have been verified by the Armat team and often publish events on behalf of an organization. 

Organizers can do the following:

• View events on the event calendar
  
• Subscribe/Unsubscribe to event notifications
  
• Follow/Unfollow organizations to receive event notifications
  
• Submit events for approval and publishing
  
• Recommend Armenian-owned businesses and organizations to be added to the platform
  
• Suggest edits to business listings and organization listings
  
• Invite others to the platform to become verified users as well
  
• Can claim and manage business/organization listings
  
• Submit events directly to the calendar with no need for approval
